I, a high school teacher, was transferred with my students to another world Volume 1 Chapter 12

The Furious Kohinata

The students decided to go back to their rooms to take showers, as they were running out of magic power and felt that they could not practice any longer. As I walked out of the practice room and up the stairs, I passed a couple of students who had apparently finished practice earlier. Kohinata and Tsuji. Although I thought it was a bit of a disaster, I asked them if everything was okay.

That must have been a mistake, because my eyes meet Kohinata’s. Kohinata looked at me annoyed, but suddenly noticed the small sword on my waist.

“Oh. I see you have a sword.”

“Hmm? Really? You can’t do kendo, but you chose a sword for yourself.”

Tsuji, who was standing next to him, was also pleased to see me, and they both knew that I used to be an Iaido practitioner.  In any case, they seemed to feel uncomfortable with me holding a sword.

In fact, kendo practitioners sometimes study Japanese kendo forms for dan examinations and the like. Perhaps their image of Iaido is similar to that.

Even at this point in my life, I still can’t get rid of my position as their teacher, can I? I answered them forcefully.

“What? I thought it was for self-defense.”

“Pfft. Self-defense, isn’t that a Wakizashi?”

“I see, we chose all the swords, so there was only the Wakizashi left. I’m amused.”

I see, a Wakizashi. You mean like the Wakizashi held by a samurai with two swords?

“It’s a little longer than a regular Wakizashi, the size of a small sword.”

“I don’t know. Kukku. Now you are safe from the monsters~ old man.”

“Hihihi. Wakizashi or whatever… blah.”

They didn’t listen to my words and continued to laugh like they saw a good show. Their attitude made me get angry too.

“Are you the ones who choose swords to handle? This is not like messing around with bamboo swords.”

“What…wha?”

Kohinata, who had enjoyed making fun of others so much, changed color.

“Kendo is just a sport, not a martial art. I’m asking you if you can cut your enemy with that kind of striking.”

“Ah?”

He was easily offended, a little rascal. Even this kind of instigation made him lose control of himself. Especially after coming to this world, I felt that Kohinata’s behavior has become even worse.

Kohinata stretched out his arm and grabbed my collar. A button or two popped, but I didn’t turn away from him, but stared at him.

“What’s wrong? Are you mad because I told you the truth? I heard that there are even fights for your life when you go down there. Maybe you think it’s so simple to trade your life away playing a sport?”

“You piss me off!”

“And look at you, you’re so quick to lose your cool, how are you going to survive in such a world?”

“You…”

I glared back at Kohinata, who was gradually losing himself in anger. If you draw the line here, the line between student and teacher is completely…

“Ngu… Oh, Kohinata…”

Suddenly, Kohinata’s hand grabbed my chest and began to emit an unbelievable amount of heat.

Juh.

In a panic, I tried to grab Kohinata’s hand, but I couldn’t stand the heat and quickly let go of it. What is this??? It’s like a heated stone. The smell of burning flesh and shirt was coming out of him. The part of my chest that is being touched through my clothes is hot, like it is being burned.

“Gaga… Yaa… stop…”

“Oh, hey. Kohinata!”

Perhaps sensing the danger of the quandary, even Tsuji, who had laughed earlier, tried to stop Kohinata in an impatient manner. However, Kohinata further inflamed his anger, “You’re loud”.

But … this is bad. I struggled desperately and grabbed a spot on Kohinata’s elbow, but it wasn’t as hot there as it was on his hand. My hand is not as hot there as it is in my hand. I desperately grasped his elbow and tried to pull his arm away.

“As I thought, that’s it. Teachers are supposed to be mobs.”

No matter how much effort I put into it, Kohinata’s arm didn’t even budge.  A cruel smile appeared on his mouth. And then my body was lifted up. With one hand???

“Both of you, stop!”

At that moment, Karimah came running toward us, perhaps sensing the anomaly in the hallway. He glanced at Kohinata, who clicked his tongue and his lips twisted into a smirk.

“Die”

“No!”

I wondered if Kohinata really felt that way… Something like a black murderous atmosphere surrounded me almost creating a sense of fear. Just as I felt the heat of Kohinata’s hand rise even higher, water was poured on me with a splash. I felt Kohinata’s hand emit steam. Kohinata took his hand away from me and turned to Karimah.

“You… what are you doing?”

Was it magic? The water was suddenly sprayed on me from the side. I felt the anger veer toward Karimah. I was holding my burnt neck and still desperately trying to stop Kohinata.

“Hey, come on…”

“In the Sky Temple, fighting between transferees is forbidden. Stop it at once.”

“If I don’t stop, … what are you going to do?”

“The grace period will be lifted immediately, and you will be immediately sent down to the lower world. Right now, we can still pretend this never happened.”

“…”

“Come on! Put that hand away now!”

Karimah shouted, looking at Kohinata’s red-hot hand. Kohinata was silent for a while, but then his face relaxed and a smile appeared on his mouth.

“… Fufu. Hahaha. That’s fine. I forgive you, Kusunoki. I only have two days left here with you anyway.”

Kohinata laughed and brushed his wet hair. The steam was rising, but the burning heat seemed to have already subsided. He took one look at me and headed for the cafeteria, seemingly disinterested. Tsuji followed in a hurry.

As soon as I was left behind, Karimah approached me and checked the burn on my neck.

“This is terrible …, but I’m glad he’s still on the first ladder. …If he’d been higher up the ladder, it might have been tough.”

As things settled down, the pain from the burns became worse. Even just the wind hitting me causes a terrible aching pain. Damn … I felt anger and frustration at myself for not being able to do anything about it. I unintentionally punched the wall with my fist.

“I understand how you feel, but please remain calm. I will take you to the medical ward right away.”

Karimah was carrying me on his back.

“S-sensei? That wound… what happened!?”

Kimishima and Sakuragi, who had just come down the stairs, saw me being carried on his back and approached us in a panic.

“No, it’s nothing…”

I answered bluntly, feeling embarrassed to be seen like this, probably because I was a proud man.

“Excuse me, I need to take him to the medical ward right away.”

Karimah held the two of them back and walked away immediately, like he had also guessed what was going on.

After that, a priest who could use medical magic was called in to cast a spell on me. That was completely different from the image I had of medical care when I was in Japan. The priest put his hand on my burns and the effect was immediate, and the tingling pain quickly subsided.

… After about five minutes of being … touched, the priest stood up and handed me a mirror, saying, “You should be all right now.”

“… Are there any left at all?”

I was prepared for a scar to remain, but it had already healed nicely. I looked in the mirror and touched it in places, but I couldn’t even see a scar. It was amazing…

Karimah also explained medical magic to me, relieved. He said that there were very few people who could use healing magic at this level. He said that only the Sky Temple could have such personnel, always prepared for anything that might happen.

“Thank you.”

I thanked the priest and asked him to let me sleep in the bed in this medical ward for the night as Karimah said he would bring me some food.

I didn’t feel like seeing my students much now that I was in this condition. I knew that Karimah was taking care of me, too.

Still, tomorrow would come again.
