A dress and a straw hat
“It’s a beautiful day.”
Lida stretched out her arms and held out her hands towards the sun.
“It’s hot enough to make me sweat, but it’s a nice day for a walk. Lida, are you getting sunburned?”
“Yeah, I’ve got sun cream on and this…”
“This?”
In his hand, she was holding a straw hat. It was a rather large one. She put it on her head.
A straw hat with a one-piece dress is the strongest weapon in the world, isn’t it? It looked good on the Russian girl, Lida.
“How do you like it? Does it look good on me? ……”
“Oh, yeah. ……”
I was so taken aback that I was speechless. I wanted to tell her she was cute.
“Yeah, it reads ‘cute’ on your face, Oojirou.”
“Oh……, how did you know?”
“I guess it’s called “heart-to-heart.”
So, you’re saying that me and you, Lida, are on the same page. Is that what you’re saying?
If not, this life wouldn’t be possible. Well, I want to understand Lida better too.
“We could go around the island, but it’s a little hot. Why don’t we go see some boat races? It’s indoors, after all.”
“Boat races! I’m interested.”
Without even a hint of disapproval, Lida nodded with a smile.
…… Too cute.
We finally started walking and headed towards Bentenjima Station.
The cicadas were chirping faintly, but fortunately the wind was strong enough to keep us cool. This way we don’t have to worry about getting covered in sweat.
It feels like the beginning of summer.
We arrived at the station and headed for Arai Station.
When we arrived, the boat race track was almost in front of us.
“It’s coming into view.”
“Wow, I didn’t know they had a place like that. It’s big. It has a big parking area and a park.”
Even from the station, you can see the whole thing.
We arrived at Arai Station a little later.
We walked further from the station, but it was enough.
As I walked towards the station, I saw old men and women who were also going to the boat race track. I guess there must be a lot of people there on a Saturday.
By the way, you don’t have to go out of your way to enjoy the races since you can vote online. But I prefer to see the race in person.
Eventually, we arrived in front of the boat race track.
“The entrance fee is 100 yen. I’ll buy you a drink.”
“No problem, it’s only 100 yen. I’ll pay it myself.”
“But …”
“It’s okay. Don’t worry about it.”
It was hard to say no when she smiled at me like that.
I liked Lida’s humble nature a lot.
It was just before thirteen o’clock.
Should we go have lunch first?
There are also restaurants and convenience stores in the boat race area. Perhaps we should buy something and watch the race from a distance.
